Frequently Asked Questions
What is an initial consultation?
Initial consultations are usually by Zoom but I am also happy to chat by telephone or email. You tell me how you want your invitations to look but don't worry if you're not sure, we can chat about possibilities. I will have some questions on approximate numbers, your timescale, etc and following this initial chat, I will prepare a quote for you, but only if you think we would be a good fit. If you require a type of stationery that I don't offer, I can suggest alternative suppliers. You are not under any obligation to proceed until I have provided a quote and you have paid a 50% deposit on your stationery.
How do I receive my invitations?
A courier service or Royal Mail 24hr Tracked is used for all invitations, at no extra cost to you. Should you order printed invitations and need them in a hurry, my printer can deliver them direct to you and/or your venue.
What's included in your Invitations?
As a minimum, all of my invitations come with an Invitation + envelope/box, an RSVP card + envelope, an Information card/sheet, and a pre-order Menu if required. Some designs have sticker seals and bands as standard. Courier delivery of your order to a UK address is free on all of my stationery. You will have the option to have your envelopes printed as an added extra.
How long will my invitations take?
The lead time for delivery of printed stationery is 4 weeks from receipt of final wording; handmade stationery lead time is 6 weeks from receipt of final wording. If you need your order quicker, get in touch as I can usually accommodate tighter deadlines.
International Orders
International customers can place an order by contacting me. If your invitations are being printed, I can have the artwork sent direct to you or your printer.
How soon should I be organising my wedding invitations?
It's never too early to organise your invitations. I undertake a limited amount of bespoke handmade wedding commissions each year, so if you know you want me to hand-make your invitations, the earlier you can book, the better. Ideally you should be organising your invitations at least 6 months before you want to send them out.
I have a very short timescale - can you still make my invitations?
It's worth asking. If I have availability, I will certainly do my utmost to accommodate your timescale.
I am not based nearby, can I still order bespoke invitations from you?
Absolutely! I work with clients all over the world. We can cover everything by telephone, email or Zoom and I can send out a comprehensive questionnaire to make sure I have all the necessary information.
I don't have all my information yet. Do you need this before I order my invitations?
No. The most time-consuming part is the design of your bespoke invitations. I can mock-up wording that will give you an idea of the types of things you might want to include. Once you have settled on your perfect design, I will work with you to finalise your wording and will email you proofs of the agreed wording prior to printing.
Can you provide on-the-day stationery?
Of course. If you want your on-the-day stationery to co-ordinate with your invitations, it is wise to let me know when you are booking your invitations. I can then let you know which designs are likely to work best for all of your wedding stationery.
Can you offer bespoke artwork for my invitations?
Yes! I work with a fantastic contemporary artist, Ruth Slater and together we can come up with a unique design for your invitations. Many clients take advantage of this service to include much-loved pets or features from their venue in their special day.
I need to give wedding and evening guests different information regarding coaches etc. Is this possible?
Absolutely. I will go over every detail of your special day including what you need to let your guests know and what you would like to hear back from them. This information is likely to be different for your day and evening guests and I will tailor your invitations accordingly at no extra charge.
